§ 51.09. TRASH FEE ADDED TO UTILITIES BILL.

(A) A user fee of $12 per month is hereby established for trash collection beginning December 1, 2012 for all city residents and any business that may qualify for trash collection per city ordinance.
(B) Unpaid fees may be assessed by the city against real property as provided in I.C. 36-9-23-31 through I.C. 36-9-23-34. If fees assessed against real property are not paid within 20 days, a penalty of 10% of the amount of the garbage fees attaches to the delinquent fees consistent with the Peru Utilities billing and collections processes for all utilities. The fee amount, the penalty and reasonable attorney’s fees may be recovered in a civil action in the name of the municipality.
